Born in Barbados and raised on the Cayman Islands, Kyffin is one of the most exciting young racers competing in the United States.
Kyffin began his racing career aged 9 in Barbados, scoring his first championship victory the very same year before going on to win in every season since. Considered and humble, Kyffin prefers to do his talking on the track with success through rock-solid consistency and clean driving.
After dominating the Caribbean and Floridian karting scenes, Kyffin took his first steps into single-seater racing in the FIA F4 United States Championship in 2020. He was comfortable behind the wheel immediately, scoring two podium finishes at his first car racing event, before going on to regularly feature as a series front-runner. Despite his relative inexperience, Kyffin went on to make his F3 debut in late 2020, scoring a Top-10 finish at the Circuit of the Americas.
2021 was Kyffin’s most successful season to date. Teaming up with renowned IndyCar veteran engineer Tim Neff and the TJ Speed Motorsports outfit, Kyffin dominated the FR Americas season beginning with a clean sweep of three wins in the opening round.
Only finishing outside of the top five twice, Kyffin proved to be a fast, consistent driver and almost secured the title with a round to spare, before scoring a further two wins at the Circuit of Americas in October. Alongside his championship title, Kyffin was presented with Honda’s engine manufacturer award for his exceptional performance, and 18 FIA Super License points.
In addition to his record-breaking season, Kyffin was chosen to participate in the HPD GT3 Academy program by Honda Performance Development, enhancing his skills for endurance racing opportunities in 2022.
Kyffin Simpson was the first driver officially announced for the 2022 Indy Lights season. Indy Lights is the support act to the NTT INDYCAR SERIES which race fans, teams and partners look to for the next generation of champions. FR Americas champion Kyffin graduates to the INDYCAR support package with TJ Speed Motorsports.
Building on his success in the 2021 HPD GT3 Academy, Kyffin is scheduled to compete in America’s premier endurance racing series, the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup. Kyffin will represent Acura (Honda) across four rounds at events such as the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, facing off against brands such as Ferrari, Porsche, Chevrolet, Lexus, Aston Martin and many more.
