Simpson confirmed alongside Lynn, Allen for 2023 European Le Mans Series

Cayman Islands racer Kyffin Simpson is pleased to confirm a full-season 2023 European Le Mans Series program with multiple title-winning team Algarve Pro Racing, taking the wheel of the #25 ORECA 07 prototype alongside the experienced Alex Lynn and Rolex 24 at Daytona winner James Allen.

This news comes barely 12 hours after a debut Asian Le Mans Series victory with Algarve Pro, with Kyffin taking overall LMP2 honours at the 4 Hours of Dubai alongside Allen and John Falb. Algarve Pro, one of the most experienced and successful teams in ELMS, returns to the European Le Mans Series as part of a 48-car grid in the top category, competing for overall series honours in an 18-car LMP2 field.

2022 Petit Le Mans winner Kyffin adds to an already busy race schedule alongside INDY NXT duties with HMD Motorsports, an IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup run with Tower Motorsports, the Asian Le Mans Series double-header with Algarve Pro Racing, and an NTT INDYCAR SERIES development role with Chip Ganassi Racing.

The six-round 2023 ELMS season begins in Barcelona on 21st-23rd April, before continuing at Imola, Paul Ricard, Aragon, Spa-Francorchamps and Portimao. Like its Asian counterpart, each weekend consists of multiple practice sessions, a short qualifying, and 4-hour endurance format race with tyre changes, driver swaps, and refuelling.

Speaking from Bahrain ahead of his first weekend with Algarve Pro, Kyffin said:

“I’m so excited to confirm my ELMS entry with Algarve Pro. We’ve started off strong with a victory in Dubai, and I can’t wait to compete at all the tracks on the calendar. [The calendar] looks like a tour of Europe’s greatest circuits, all of which I’m sure we will be very competitive at. I’m looking forward to joining Alex and James in Barcelona.”

Fans can follow live coverage of the 2023 European Le Mans Series on its official YouTube channel, and can support Kyffin on social media via FacebookInstagram and Twitter.
